Indonesia launches new ST016 sukuk for domestic investors

Indonesia’s sovereign finance authority introduced the ST016 sukuk series, offering two retail‑focused instruments: the ST016T2 2‑year sukuk tabungan and the ST016T4 4‑year green sukuk. Both carry floating coupons with floor rates of 6.05% (BI + 130 bps) and 6.25% (BI + 150 bps) respectively, and include an early‑redemption feature. The offerings opened to individual Indonesian investors between 8 May and 3 June 2026 and are not tradable on the secondary market.

The launch aims to broaden the domestic investor base, support financing for the 2026 state budget (APBN), and further develop Indonesia’s sharia‑compliant capital market, which has seen transaction values rise by 104% to about Rp 11.2 trillion, according to the OJK’s latest statistics.

The ST016 series is part of a broader push to provide profitable, low‑risk, ethically aligned investment options for Indonesian citizens while contributing to the growth of the nation's sovereign and green financing mechanisms.
