Indonesia Launches PKH and BPNT Social Aid Disbursement, Targets 18 Million Families

Indonesia’s Ministry of Social Affairs announced that the third‑quarter disbursement of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and the Non‑Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) will begin on 20 July 2026. The government plans to allocate Rp28.7 trillion for PKH and Rp43.8 trillion for BPNT, covering roughly 18 million households. Beneficiaries will receive cash transfers ranging from Rp225 000 for elementary‑school students to Rp750 000 for pregnant women, with BPNT payments of Rp200 000 per month paid in three‑month blocks.

In parallel, the ministry is urging aid recipients to become members and entrepreneurs of the Red‑White Village Cooperatives (KDKMP). Minister Saifullah Yusuf said the cooperatives will help channel assistance, allow beneficiaries to purchase goods through cooperative stores, and provide a platform for selling their own products. Pilot projects are underway in several locations, supported by the State Bank Association (Himbara) to ensure banking services for the cooperatives. The rollout will be phased, contingent on infrastructure and operational readiness.
