Indonesia launches training for Sekolah Rakyat guardians

Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf officially opened training for guardians and dormitory supervisors of the Sekolah Rakyat program in Lembang, West Java. The training aims to ensure staff can effectively mentor students, who come from diverse backgrounds including those who previously dropped out of school.

Minister Yusuf emphasized that because Sekolah Rakyat operates as a boarding school combining religious and formal education, staff must act as role models with high empathy and dedication. The program is expanding across Indonesia, with 182 locations currently active, including 24 in West Java. However, the availability of land remains a significant obstacle to the program's development.
