WCCE 2026: Jakarta Vision aims to strengthen global creative economy
The 5th World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026, held in Jakarta, has resulted in the adoption of the ‘Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy’. This document, supported by 38 nations including Russia and Iran, aims to be presented as a United Nations resolution during the General Assembly in December 2026.
The Jakarta Vision focuses on four strategic pillars: expanding digital technology access, protecting intellectual property, fostering sustainable collaboration, and increasing financing for creative practitioners. The conference brought together delegates from over 80 countries, featuring 183 speakers and attracting over 20,000 visitors to the Creativillage exhibitions.
In addition to global policy discussions, the event highlighted regional economic shifts and local industry integration. For instance, NTB Governor Lalu Iqbal reported that NTB's economy grew by 10.42 percent in the first half of 2026, driven by sectors like tourism and the creative economy. Meanwhile, Telkomsel and FLOQ announced a memorandum of understanding to explore integrating digital asset services, such as crypto-related features, into the Telkomsel ecosystem.
