Indonesia leverages digital technology for literacy and tourism

In Indonesia, various sectors are looking toward digital transformation to drive social and economic benefits. The Faculty of Computer Science at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (Unsika) is collaborating with the Karawang Regency Archives and Library Service to develop SIKanCiL, a SuperApp designed to serve as a community literacy portal. The project follows a five-year roadmap aimed at integrating services and strengthening the regional literacy ecosystem through social inclusion.

Separately, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka emphasized the role of technology in optimizing Indonesia's tourism sector. Speaking at the Trisakti Tourism Institute graduation, the Vice President noted that innovation is essential to promote Indonesia's natural and cultural wealth globally and to create high-quality tourism. He highlighted the importance of involving local communities and MSMEs in the tourism supply chain to ensure economic benefits reach local residents directly.
