Indonesia maintains electricity tariffs for Q3 2026

The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has announced that electricity tariffs for PT PLN (Persero) will remain unchanged for the third quarter, covering the period from July to September 2026.

Minister of ESDM Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the decision to maintain current rates is intended to preserve public purchasing power, support industrial competitiveness, and ensure business certainty amidst global economic dynamics. While the standard tariff adjustment formula—which considers the Rupiah exchange rate, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and the Reference Coal Price (HBA)—suggested potential changes, the government opted for stability.

For the third quarter of 2026, the economic parameters used were based on the February–April 2026 realization, which included an exchange rate of Rp16,959.32 per USD, an ICP of USD 96.12 per barrel, inflation of 0.21 percent, and an HBA of USD 70 per ton.
