Indonesia maritime rescues: Boat capsizes in Mahakam and divers found safe in Sikka

Two separate maritime rescue operations have been successfully completed in Indonesia.

In Kutai Kartanegara, security personnel from PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) rescued a resident after their small boat overturned in the Mahakam waters near the GTS-4 area. The individual was traveling alone from Sungai Meriam to Pamengkaran with logistics when the vessel lost balance and sank. The rescue was conducted by an offshore security team patrolling via the seatruck ST Pegasus.

In Sikka, East Nusa Tenggara, a joint SAR team located three divers who had been swept away by strong currents near Panga Batang Island. The rescued group included two Irish nationals and one Indonesian dive guide. This finding concludes the search for four divers who went missing during a group dive; all individuals involved in the incident have been found safe.
