Indonesia merges seven state logistics firms under Danantara plan

Indonesia’s investment holding agency, Badan Pengelola Investasi (BPI) Danantara, finalized the merger of seven state‑owned logistics companies: Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva Multi Terminal Indonesia, Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva Prima Indonesia Logistik, Pos Logistics, Pelni Logistics, PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN), PT Varia Usaha Dharma Segara (VUDS) and Krakatau Integrated Logistics. The shareholders agreement and merger deed were signed on 30 June 2026, designating PT Multi Terminal Indonesia as the surviving entity during the transition.

Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at Danantara Asset Management, Aurelius Altius Rosimin, said the consolidation aims to "cut fragmentation of entities, optimise scale of operations and eliminate overlapping services" that have hampered efficiency in state logistics. The move is presented as a milestone for the National Logistics BUMN consolidation, intended to lower Indonesia’s logistics costs, boost the sector’s competitiveness in ASEAN and support the country’s long‑term development plan (RPJPN 2025‑2045) and the Asta Cita program.

Officials expect the integrated ecosystem, spanning from upstream to downstream logistics, to generate operational savings, reduce duplicated functions and improve Indonesia’s overall supply‑chain performance.
