Indonesia Ministry of Creative Economy expands global market access
Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy is implementing strategic initiatives to bolster the national creative sector and its global competitiveness. Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya is collaborating with the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) to establish JAFF Market 2026 as an integrated hub for film industry professionals, investors, and brand owners. The goal is to transform film intellectual property (IP) into valuable assets that can serve as collateral for easier project financing.
Simultaneously, Deputy Minister Irene Umar announced a partnership with Indonesia Open Network (ION) to expand digital market access for local creative products. This collaboration aims to utilize technology, including Artificial Intelligence, to support cross-border trade, digital marketing, and intellectual property protection. The government intends to form a joint task force to address digital infrastructure and capacity building for local entrepreneurs to ensure they can compete effectively in the global market.
