Indonesia Ministry of Creative Economy launches 20-year development plan
Indonesia's Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, is implementing strategic initiatives to strengthen the national and regional creative economy ecosystems. A central component of this effort is the Creative Economy Master Plan (Rindekraf) 2026–2045, a 20-year roadmap designed to provide a structured and sustainable development direction for the sector.
The government aims to expand creative economy institutions to 31 provinces and 97 regencies/cities by 2026. Key programs include the development of Creative Villages, Creative Hubs, and the ‘Creative by Indonesia’ initiative to boost regional competitiveness through local talent and cultural uniqueness.
Additionally, the Ministry is working to connect rural creative actors, including women in groups such as Srikandi Jaga Desa, with larger markets. This includes fostering collaborations between the creative sector—specifically architecture, design, and crafts—and the property and banking industries. The Ministry emphasizes the importance of helping creators understand how to develop their intellectual property into economic assets through assistance in product development, certification, and digital ecosystem utilization.
