Indonesia Ministry of Education launches literacy products

The Indonesian Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, through the Language Development and Fostering Agency, has launched 16 linguistic and literary products to strengthen national literacy. Minister Abdul Mu’ti stated that the celebration of Language and Literature Month serves as a momentum to increase public pride in the Indonesian language, particularly among the younger generation.

The new resources include various dictionaries for students, translated literary works, and strategic documents. To support early childhood and primary education, the agency released 30 literacy and numeracy reading materials, including comics and specialized books for students with special needs. Additionally, the ministry introduced roadmaps for the internationalization of the Indonesian language and new regulations regarding the Language Development Index.
