Indonesia Ministry of Manpower warns of wage subsidy scams

The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has issued a warning to workers regarding fraudulent schemes involving the 2026 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU). Scammers are reportedly using WhatsApp broadcast messages and direct messages on social media platforms like Instagram to distribute fake links.

Indah Anggoro Putri, Director General of Industrial Relations and Social Security for Labor, advised workers not to click on suspicious links or provide sensitive personal information, such as National Identification Numbers (NIK), to unverified parties. She noted that the presence of the Ministry's logo on a website or message does not guarantee authenticity.

To protect themselves, workers are urged to verify all information through official Kemnaker communication channels or the official website at bsu.kemnaker.go.id. The Ministry recommends checking website addresses carefully, never sharing OTP codes, PINs, or passwords, and avoiding any requests for payment to facilitate subsidy disbursement.
