Indonesia 2026 Wage Subsidy Assistance program
Overview
In early October 2026, the Indonesian government announced the 2026 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) program, intended to provide financial aid to approximately 13.3 million workers. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated the program would require an estimated budget of nearly Rp12 trillion, with recipients expected to receive Rp900,000 distributed in monthly installments of Rp300,000 throughout the fourth quarter.
While the program was announced, local authorities and the Ministry of Manpower noted that official regulations and specific implementation mechanisms were still pending.
By late October, the Ministry of Manpower issued warnings regarding fraudulent schemes targeting workers. Scammers have reportedly used WhatsApp and social media to distribute fake links. Officials advised workers to verify all information through official government channels and cautioned against sharing sensitive personal data, such as National Identification Numbers (NIK), OTP codes, or passwords with unverified parties.
