Indonesia offers free family planning services through October 7

To commemorate World Contraception Day, Indonesia's Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga/BKKBN) is providing free family planning (KB) services across the country. The program, which runs from September 7 to October 7, 2026, is available at registered health facilities nationwide.

Deputy Minister Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka recently inspected the implementation of Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (MKJP) in South Tangerang. The services include counseling, screening, examinations, and the installation of IUDs and implants. The initiative aims to promote family planning and pregnancy spacing to prevent risks associated with being too young, too old, too frequent, or having too many children.

Additionally, the ministry is expanding its reach to youth through the Youth Information and Counseling Center (PIK-R) program. In collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs, this initiative provides counseling and educational spaces in schools to support adolescent development and mental well-being.
