Indonesia Ministry of Trade targets 4 million export-ready MSMEs
The Indonesian Ministry of Trade is implementing the Campuspreneur Program to cultivate export-oriented young entrepreneurs through higher education institutions. During the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia, Secretary General Isy Karim stated that the initiative aims to develop at least four million MSMEs over the next five years to serve as active exporters or suppliers for export-oriented industries.
Currently, MSMEs contribute approximately 15–16 percent to Indonesia's national exports. The Ministry aims to increase this contribution to 30 percent in the medium term and 40 percent in the long term. This strategy follows a period of positive trade performance, with exports reaching $193.64 billion USD from January to August 2026, representing a 4.74 percent growth and a trade surplus of $7.25 billion USD.
