Indonesian government officials are implementing measures to stabilize food prices and support local producers amid fluctuating commodity costs. To address low egg and chicken prices for farmers, the Ministry of Trade is extending the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program for feed through December 2026 and utilizing the 'Makan Bergizi Gratis' (MBG) program to increase product absorption.

Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman has mandated that Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) absorb eggs at a minimum price of Rp26,500 per kg to protect farmers. Additionally, the government aims to lower production costs by reducing feed prices and intends to take strict action against importers who disrupt the domestic market.

Regarding beef, the Ministry of Trade reported that import realization has only reached approximately 40% of the allocated quota. Minister Budi Santoso has urged importers to find more competitive international suppliers and address logistical challenges, such as rising transportation costs, to help lower domestic beef prices, which currently average around Rp142,000 per kg.
