Indonesia national football team climbs to 118th in FIFA rankings after June wins

Indonesia's senior football squad jumped ten places to rank 118th in the latest FIFA standings following back‑to‑back victories in June 2026. The team beat Oman 3‑0 on 5 June and Mozambique 1‑0 on 9 June at Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno stadium.

PSSI chairman Erick Thohir welcomed the rise but warned the team must stay grounded, setting a target to break into the world’s top‑100. Coach John Herdman praised the players for adapting to different opponents and executing the game plan, saying the results boost confidence ahead of the upcoming ASEAN Hyundai Cup and further FIFA fixtures. The federation also announced it would blacklist a supporter who allegedly insulted player Beckham Putra after the Mozambique match.
