Indonesia opens registration for SMK Go Global migrant worker training

The Indonesian Ministry of Migrant Worker Protection (KP2MI) has opened registration for the second batch of the 2026 Indonesian Migrant Worker Capacity Building Program, known as SMK Go Global. Registration is scheduled to run from September 28 to October 31, 2026, through the BP3MI registration channel.

Minister Mukhtarudin stated that the program aims to strengthen the skills and readiness of prospective migrant workers to meet international labor market demands. While the initiative is part of the SMK Go Global ecosystem, the Minister clarified that it is not limited to vocational school (SMK) graduates; it is also open to the general public, including those with diploma (D3), bachelor's (S1), and master's (S2) degrees.

The program offers two types of training: language instruction and sector-based competency training. Specific training sectors include healthcare, hospitality, agriculture, and transportation. The goal is to ensure Indonesian workers possess competitive skills that align with the requirements of their destination countries.
