Indonesia Police Deploys Over 2,800 New Officers to Regional Units

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has placed 1,848 newly commissioned officers—1,798 graduates of the 55th class of the Police Inspector School (SIP) and 50 from the 11th class of the SIP Special Intelligence program—into regional police commands (Polda) and local police stations (Polres). Nearly 90% of the officers are assigned to these units to meet the continued demand for leadership at the district level. Deputy Police Chief Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo said the deployment is intended to boost public‑service functions, rapid response capabilities, and the human‑focused approach of the force.

In a separate ceremony, Kapolda Metro Jaya Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri inaugurated 993 police cadets (Bintara Remaja) at the SPN Lido training center, granting them the rank of Brigadir Polisi Dua. The new bintara were urged to uphold integrity, human‑rights standards, and close community engagement as they begin their duties in law‑enforcement and public safety.

Both events underscore Polri’s effort to strengthen its manpower and service quality across Indonesia’s regions.
