Jakarta and Tangerang South power outage restored after Gandul‑Cirendeu line fault

On the early morning of 3 August 2026, PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi Jakarta Raya reported a sudden loss of electricity across Jakarta, South Jakarta and Tangerang Selatan. The outage began at 04:59 WIB when the supply from the Gandul substation to the Cirendeu line was disrupted. Senior Manager of Communications and Public Relations Haris Andika said PLN crews first verified technical safety at 05:14 WIB and then began restoration work. By 07:00 WIB power was fully restored to all affected customers.

PLN issued an apology for the inconvenience and urged any remaining customers experiencing problems to report them via the PLN Mobile app or the PLN 123 contact centre. The incident was attributed to a fault in the Gandul‑Cirendeu transmission line, and PLN indicated that investigations into the cause were ongoing.
