Indonesia President Prabowo Establishes Seven New District Prosecutor Offices

President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulation No. 40/2026 on 2 July 2026, authorising the creation of seven new Kejaksaan Negeri (district prosecutor offices) in Indonesia. The offices will serve the regencies of Pangandaran, Serang, Tana Tidung, Kubu Raya, Lima Puluh Kota, Raja Ampat and Pesisir Barat, with each office located in the capital of its respective regency – Parigi, Ciruas, Tideng Pale, Sungai Raya, Harau, Waisai and Krui. The regulation aims to strengthen legal services and bring law‑enforcement closer to local communities. The decree was promulgated by the Minister of State Secretariat and signed by the Deputy for Legal Affairs of the Ministry of State Secretariat.
