Indonesia prioritizes human resource development for digital economy

Indonesian government officials are emphasizing the critical role of human resource development in meeting the demands of the rapidly evolving digital economy and industrial sectors.

Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor announced that the mobile phone technician category will be included in the Indonesia Skills Competition (Inaskill) 2026 for the first time. This initiative aims to ensure technicians possess the necessary analytical, problem-solving, and safety skills to meet modern industrial standards and compete globally.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is intensifying digital talent programs. The ministry aims to develop approximately 30,000 digital talents through various training levels, including artificial intelligence. Efforts such as the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub are also being utilized to provide broader access to technology, networking, and capital to help Indonesia transition from a consumer market to a digital economic power.
