Indonesia projects record Rp4,000 trillion state spending for 2027

The Indonesian government has projected state spending in the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) to exceed Rp4,000 trillion for the first time in the nation's history. The planned expenditure is estimated at Rp4,097.2 trillion, representing a 3.9 percent increase from the 2026 outlook.

Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara stated that this significant budget will be directed toward improving human capital quality and infrastructure. Key focus areas include health, education, social protection, productivity enhancement programs, and connectivity services. The government aims to ensure that state spending acts as a catalyst for broader economic activities, such as household consumption, investment, and exports.

The budget is divided into Central Government Expenditure (BPP) of Rp3,362.2 trillion and Regional Transfers (TKD) of Rp735 trillion. To maximize impact, the Ministry of Finance intends to synergize spending with the Danantara Investment Management Agency and other financial sector authorities to support sustainable development and equitable regional growth.
