Indonesia promotes women's economic empowerment through various programs

The Indonesian Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) is advocating for increased female involvement in various empowerment programs to foster economic, educational, and health independence. Amurwani Dwi Lestariningsih, Deputy for Gender Equality at the Ministry, noted that expanding access to these opportunities benefits not only women but also their families and the broader environment.

In support of these goals, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) has implemented several social and environmental responsibility programs. These include deploying female volunteers to regions such as Banda Aceh, Garut, Sumbawa, and Ambon, and providing business assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), where 41 out of 53 recipients are women. Pelindo also distributed mobility aids to 25 people with disabilities.

Additionally, the Srikandi PLN Women Support Women program conducted skill-building training in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The initiative focused on teaching the Rukun Makmur Women Farmers Group how to process abundant goat milk into milk crackers (kerupuk susu) to create value-added products and new income streams.
