Indonesia provides vocational training for East Nusa Tenggara earthquake survivors

The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower is providing 78 vocational training packages to residents affected by the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in August 2026.

According to Sukro Muhab, a special staff member to the Minister of Manpower, the initiative aims to enhance practical skills and competencies to help survivors re-enter the workforce or establish independent businesses. The program consists of 40 courses under the National Vocational Training scheme distributed through Regional Technical Implementation Units (UPTD) across the province.

Additionally, the ministry is implementing 38 Tailor-Made Training (TMT) packages. These programs are specifically customized to align with local economic potential and regional demands, ensuring that the skills acquired can be immediately applied to local employment or self-employment opportunities.
