Indonesia Q2 2026 Economic Growth Forecast Exceeds 5%
Economists in Indonesia project that gross domestic product will grow above 5% in the second quarter of 2026. Danamon Bank economist Hosiana E. Situmorang said the growth could reach about 5.18%, noting that government spending on strategic projects, strong household consumption and a 7.1% year‑on‑year rise in investment – including a 27.5% jump in foreign direct investment – are supporting the outlook, while export growth is expected to slow.
Coordinating Minister of the Economy Airlangga Hartarto echoed the optimism, stressing that robust investment and government incentives will keep growth above the 5% mark. He announced a stimulus package of roughly Rp26.34 trillion for the second semester, split into Rp2.4 trillion for economic stimulus, Rp6.26 trillion for apprenticeship and vocational programs, and Rp18.04 trillion for food assistance, while also acknowledging the need to streamline licensing procedures.
