Pertamina cuts non‑subsidized fuel prices and launches B50 biodiesel

Effective 1 July 2026, PT Pertamina lowered the retail prices of several non‑subsidized fuels: Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) fell to Rp 19 300 / L (≈7 % drop), Pertamina Dex (CN 53) to Rp 21 150 / L (≈15 % drop) and Dexlite (CN 51) to Rp 19 700 / L (≈14 % drop). Prices for subsidized fuels – Pertalite, Biosolar, Pertamax (RON 92) and Pertamax Green (RON 95) – remained unchanged. The same adjustment applied to aviation turbine fuel (avtur) at Soekarno‑Hatta Airport, which was reduced by about 14 %.

The price cuts were framed as a routine evaluation tied to global oil‑price dynamics, fiscal considerations and consumer purchasing power, and were coordinated with the Indonesian government. Shell Indonesia and BP also announced diesel price reductions to the same level on the same date.

In parallel, the government issued a mandatory mandate for biodiesel B50, requiring a 50 % blend of biodiesel (derived mainly from palm oil) with conventional diesel in all fuel sold nationwide from 1 July 2026. The policy aims to cut reliance on imported fuel, support the domestic palm‑oil sector and improve energy security. Implementation rules include a three‑month transition period and quality‑specification requirements for fuel providers.
