Indonesia reports 90% of 2026 Hajj pilgrims back as final groups land

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) said that about 90 % of Indonesia’s 2026 Hajj pilgrims and staff – 184,322 people – have returned home. A total of 472 pilgrimage groups (kloter) have arrived, covering Wave I (267 groups via Jeddah, 104,753 persons) and Wave II (212 groups via Madinah, 82,163 persons).

Final groups reached several domestic points this week: 315 pilgrims of Kloter 40 disembarked at Pendopo Indramayu after returning via Kertajati Airport; Kloter 26 marked the last arrival at Yogyakarta International Airport, completing that airport’s inaugural Hajj operations; and the Aceh province’s last Kloter 14 (5,463 pilgrims) landed at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport in Banda Aceh.

A single‑vehicle brake failure in Subulussalam involved a convoy of 59 pilgrims. The crash caused no fatalities, and the group arrived at the mosque an hour later.

The government also delivered flood‑relief assistance to 32 Aceh pilgrims who incurred debt after recent floods, a move highlighted by President Prabowo and the ministry’s deputy.

Kemenhaj reminded the public to verify the licensing of Umrah travel agents through the official SatuHaji application, emphasizing traveller protection amid a growing industry.
