Indonesia Schedules Power Outages in Sleman (Yogyakarta) and Jakarta

PT PLN (Persero) scheduled a three‑hour maintenance‑related power outage on Monday, 15 June 2026, for the Sleman district of Yogyakarta Province. The shutdown, planned from 10:00 to 13:00 WIB, will affect villages such as Krikilan, Jabung, Blendangan, Tlogowono, Klayar, Maredan and nearby areas, with safety advisories to keep a 3‑metre clearance from power lines.

In Jakarta, the capital’s environmental department organized a voluntary 60‑minute blackout on 14 June 2026 as part of an energy‑saving campaign. The hour‑long lights‑off across landmarks including Monas, the Hotel Indonesia roundabout and the City Hall saved 75.18 MWh of electricity and reduced electricity costs by roughly Rp 108 million, while also cutting carbon emissions. Officials highlighted the event as a model for collective action on climate goals.
