Indonesia Secures Subsidized Fuel Supply While Weighing Pertamax Price Cut

The state‑owned firm Pertamina Patra Niaga says its stock of the subsidised fuel Pertalite remains ample and distribution to all stations across Indonesia is proceeding normally. The company monitors inventory and deliveries in real time and is prepared to increase supply to any region that sees a surge in demand.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has indicated that the price of the non‑subsidised fuel Pertamax could be reduced if global oil prices fall. Ministerial spokesperson Dwi Anggia explained that the recent price hike was necessary to align with higher world oil costs and to ensure fuel availability, but the government will lower the price should the international market improve. President Prabowo Subianto has urged restraint on price increases to protect consumer purchasing power, noting that neighboring ASEAN nations have already raised their fuel prices.
