Indonesia defeats Oman 3-0 in FIFA Matchday

Indonesia's national football team secured a 3‑0 victory over Oman at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on 5 June 2026, ending a 38‑year winless streak against the Gulf nation. Goals came from centre‑back Justin Hubner (13′), forward Ole Romeny (27′) and midfielder Ragnar Oratmangoen (56′). Goalkeeper Emil Audero saved a penalty, preserving the lead.

The match also saw 17‑year‑old Mathew Baker make his senior debut, becoming the youngest player ever to appear for Indonesia. Coach John Herdman praised the team’s performance and highlighted Baker’s composure. Oman’s coach Tariq Sektioui, who was debuting with his side, had aimed to extend Oman’s long‑standing unbeaten record against Indonesia. New Dutch defender Calvin Verdonk arrived in Jakarta and was declared fit to play. The win was witnessed by roughly 27,000 spectators and the team will next face Mozambique in another friendly.
