Indonesia selects partners for eight waste‑to‑energy projects
Indonesia’s state‑owned PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM), together with PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera), has designated partners for the second batch of the country’s Waste‑to‑Energy (WtE) program. The selection covers eight development sites across 20 regencies, with each location receiving a primary consortium and a standby partner. Four of the eight consortia are led by Indonesian firms, while two are led by French companies and two by Chinese firms, all partnered with international technology providers.
Out of 85 pre‑qualified providers, 68 proposals were evaluated and each site now has a Conditional Letter of Award (ClOA). Recipients must complete a feasibility study, establish a joint‑venture structure, finalize commercial documents and secure financing before a final award is issued. DIM CEO Pandu Sjahrir said the participation of leading global WtE firms demonstrates growing investor confidence in Indonesia and offers an opportunity to accelerate technology transfer and build national capacity in waste management.
