Indonesia Sets Egg Price Floor at Rp26,500 per Kilogram

The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture has established a reference purchase price (HAP) of Rp26,500 per kilogram for chicken eggs at the farm level. A police food task force has been mobilised to enforce the price floor and curb purchases below the set level.

Poultry farmers reported that egg prices had fallen to as low as Rp21,000‑Rp23,000 per kilogram due to an oversupply, well beneath their average production cost of about Rp24,000. The government response includes a ban on buying eggs below the HAP, urging traders to comply and asking producers to report any violations, aiming to stabilise the market and protect farmer livelihoods.
