Indonesia Stock Exchange expands shareholding concentration monitoring
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) and the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) have expanded their monitoring of shareholding concentration to enhance market transparency and investor protection.
As part of the refined High Shareholding Concentration (HSC) methodology, the scope of stocks subject to review has been extended to include those with a market capitalization exceeding Rp 5 trillion, down from the previous threshold of Rp 10 trillion. This change expands the use of the price impact ratio to a broader population of stocks, providing a more comprehensive view of ownership conditions in the Indonesian capital market.
Additionally, the regulators are enriching ownership data by providing 39 different classifications and investor types, including specific details on local versus foreign ownership. This data is distributed consistently on the second day of each following month via the BEI website. These improvements aim to align with global best practices and provide more accurate references for investment decision-making.
