Indonesia Stock Exchange regulatory and growth initiatives

Overview

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) has implemented new measures to enhance market transparency and investor protection. By refining its High Shareholding Concentration (HSC) methodology, the exchange and the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) have lowered the market capitalization threshold for stock reviews from Rp 10 trillion to Rp 5 trillion. This expansion allows for a broader application of the price impact ratio and provides more detailed ownership data, including 39 different classifications of investor types.

In parallel, the BEI is pursuing growth strategies aimed at increasing the number of initial public offerings (IPOs). The exchange is targeting companies within Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and business groups under Danantara for potential listings in 2027. To support this, the BEI is studying the effectiveness of tax incentives, such as corporate income tax reductions, and collaborating with various entities to improve financial information quality and expand capital market access for small and medium enterprises.
