Indonesia Stock Exchange launches IDX Green Equity Designation

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) has officially launched the IDX Green Equity Designation to strengthen the sustainable finance ecosystem and increase visibility for companies contributing to a low-carbon economy. This initiative provides specific designations for listed companies that meet criteria for green economic activities or transition activities.

In the inaugural phase, three companies have received designations. PT Hero Global Investment Tbk (HGII) and PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk (KEEN) were designated as ‘Green Equity,’ while PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (TOBA) was designated as ‘Green Equity Transition.’

The selection process involved independent reviews by external providers, including S&P Global Ratings and PT SUCOFINDO (Persero). To qualify for the ‘Green Equity’ category, companies must meet specific requirements, such as having more than 50% of annual revenue derived from green economic activities, alongside assessments of governance, investment, and information disclosure.
