The East Java police Brimob battalion mobilised personnel, SAR vehicles and equipment ahead of the 2026 dry season, conducting checks and training to respond quickly to forest, land and settlement fires. Battalion commander AKBP Mohammad Bagus Kurniawan urged staff to be ready to move "fast, accurate and coordinated" when disasters strike.

The Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) Authority deployed the IKNOW mobile application as a digital reporting tool, letting residents trigger a panic button that sends real‑time fire alerts to the Nusantara Command Center. Reports are verified by forest police and fire services. Monitoring data showed 40 hotspot points in Kutai Kartanegara in June 2026, rising to 46 in July, while Penajam Paser Utara recorded none. The authority also mobilised community groups and coordinated with regional disaster agencies to enhance early fire mitigation.
