Indonesia strengthens social services through staff training and digital protection initiatives

The Indonesian government is implementing several initiatives to strengthen social services and institutional integrity. Over 7,000 educational staff members for Sekolah Rakyat will undergo training focused on competency, anti-corruption, and the prevention of online gambling and sexual violence against children. Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf emphasized that staff must adhere to strict regulations, particularly regarding activities that could damage family economic stability, such as gambling.

Simultaneously, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is preparing students from various police academies, including SIP and Akpol, to support the Digital Social Protection (Perlinsos Digital) program. This initiative aims to expand government service access, with a target of registering and verifying 48 million families digitally by November 30, 2026. Following directions from Minister Saifullah Yusuf and Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, police trainees will be trained in digital device operation, data collection, and community communication to assist in mobilizing data verification and protecting personal identification numbers (NIK).
