Indonesia to Distribute Rice Aid to 33 Million Families July‑September 2026

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) announced that the government will provide 10 kg of rice each month to about 33.2 million families from July to September 2026, continuing the food‑assistance program initiated earlier in the year. The aid aims to protect household purchasing power and help stabilise rice prices, following President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to maintain food security.

State-owned Bulog confirmed it has stocked roughly 5.4 million tonnes of rice and is prepared to distribute the assistance once it receives an official assignment and budget approval from Bapanas. The agency has already completed distribution for the February‑March allocation and is ready for the new three‑month rollout.

Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) said the PKH and BPNT cash‑less food aid will begin disbursement on 20 July, after data cleansing with the latest BPS figures. Provinces such as West Java, Central Java, East Java and the city of Bekasi have been active in updating beneficiary records. In Bengkulu province, 270 000 households will receive 10 kg of rice each in July.
