Indonesia expects mostly cloudy weather on July 12, 2026
The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecast that on Sunday, 12 July 2026, cloud cover and partly‑cloudy conditions will dominate most of the archipelago. Major urban centres expected to see clouds include Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Jambi, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Serang, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Surabaya, as well as Pontianak, Palangka Raya and Samarinda on Kalimantan and several towns in the eastern islands.
Light rain is predicted for Tanjung Pinang, Tanjung Selor, Mamuju, Palu and Ambon, while moderate to heavy rain may affect the Riau Islands, East and North Kalimantan, Central and Southeast Sulawesi. The weather pattern is linked to tropical cyclone‑seed 97W in the Pacific, which has a low chance of developing further but is enhancing cloud‑forming convergence zones.
Regional forecasts note that West Java (including Tasikmalaya) will be mostly sunny with isolated light showers, and Jakarta will remain largely clear with brief cloud cover at night. Tourist sites in Central Java (Jateng) for 13‑14 July are also expected to enjoy sunny to partly‑cloudy conditions. BMKG urges the public to keep monitoring updates and stay prepared for possible rapid changes.
