Indonesia to Issue Ojek Online Presidential Regulation Before Aug 17

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi said the government is preparing a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on online ride‑hailing (ojol) that is expected to be issued before Indonesia’s Independence Day on 17 August 2026. The draft will formalise the 92:8 revenue‑share rule already set by a ministerial decree effective 1 July 2026, and lower the platform commission from up to 20 % to 8 %. It will also expand the scope to cover point‑to‑point delivery of goods, food and documents, while passenger transport by four‑wheel vehicles remains excluded. Technical details for delivery services will be handled by the Ministry of Communication and Digital. The announcement followed President Prabowo Subianto’s meeting with researchers at the presidential palace. Dudy added, “Ya diharapkan Agustus ini. Diharapkan sebelumnya (17 Agustus 2026).”
