Indonesia Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi Launches Driver Safety Training and Engages Saudi Investment

On 28 July 2026 the Ministry of Transport held a safety training for more than 1,000 two‑wheel driver partners in five cities, jointly with Grab Indonesia and the Motorbike Industry Association (AISI). The programme, titled “Safer Roads, Stronger Communities”, provided theory and practical instruction on vehicle checks, protective equipment, braking techniques and hazard identification. Minister Dudy Purwagandhi also announced a new settlement policy for transactions with Grab that will take effect on 1 August 2026.

Earlier, on 13 July 2026, Dudy met Saudi Transport and Logistics Minister Saleh bin Nasser Al‑Jasser in Jakarta. Saudi Arabia expressed interest in investing in Indonesia’s maritime, aviation and rail transport sectors and in expanding Saudi flight frequencies. Both parties said they will finalise memoranda of understanding to strengthen logistics connectivity and improve the efficiency and cost of Hajj travel.
