Indonesia caps motorcycle‑hailing app commissions at 8% from July 2026

President Prabowo Subianto signed Peraturan Presiden No. 27/2026 limiting the commission that ride‑hailing platforms may take from drivers to a maximum of 8 percent. The rule applies only to two‑wheel (motorcycle) services and takes effect on 1 July 2026.

Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said the government is focusing on two‑wheel operators because they serve the largest number of users and drivers, noting, "Sekarang ini (potongan komisi 8 persen) fokus dilakukan untuk roda dua karena memang pengguna maupun pelaku ojek online memang banyak yang di roda dua."

Major platforms Grab, GoTo and Maxim have indicated they are ready to implement the new cap, while InDrive is still assessing its impact. The coalition Koalisi Ojol Nasional welcomed the regulation as a step toward fairer earnings for millions of drivers. The government also clarified that four‑wheel ride‑hailing services are governed by separate regulations and are not covered by the 8 percent limit.
