Indonesian Army implements bridge and well programs in Maluku

The Indonesian Army, through the Kodam XV/Pattimura command, is implementing the Garuda Merah Putih Bridge Program and a borehole well program across the Maluku and North Maluku provinces throughout 2026.

These initiatives are part of a flagship program by the Army Chief of Staff, General Maruli Simanjuntak, based on the vision of President Prabowo Subianto. The goal is to demonstrate the state's presence by improving accessibility, mobility, and welfare in remote, island, and outermost regions facing geographical challenges.

Kodam XV/Pattimura has managed 55 bridge construction and repair sites across 13 regional units. Locations include Ternate, Masohi, Tual, Tidore, Namlea, Saumlaki, Tobelo, Labuha, Sula, Moa, Weda, West Seram, and Morotai. The projects involve collaborative efforts between local governments, police, and community leaders.
