Indonesia boosts trade and logistics through customs assistance and new facilities

Indonesian authorities and logistics firms are implementing various measures to bolster regional economies and trade. In Cirebon, the Environmental Agency (DLH) is urging approximately 10 potential investors to move beyond interest and realize concrete investments to improve local waste management capacity.

Customs (Bea Cukai) is actively supporting regional exports through assistance in Balikpapan and Samarinda, helping local producers of agricultural goods like pepper and chili prepare for global markets. Additionally, Customs is conducting market operations in Bontang and Banten to combat the distribution of illegal cigarettes.

In Central Java, Maersk Logistics Indonesia has received approval for a Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) in Semarang. This facility, representing an initial investment of over Rp 13 billion, aims to streamline the storage and management of commodities such as apparel and footwear destined for European markets, thereby strengthening the regional logistics ecosystem.
