Indonesian badminton team begins Asian Games training in Ichinomiya

The Indonesian badminton team has begun court adaptation training at the Ichinomiya Municipal Gymnasium in preparation for the 2026 Asian Games. Athletes, including Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Putri Kusuma Wardani, conducted 60-minute sessions to assess court conditions. Wardani noted that while the venue is located in a remote area, the facilities are well-maintained and adequate for professional competition.

Following the team event draw held on September 19, 2026, PBSI official Eng Hian stated that the federation has mapped out potential opponents to refine strategic preparations. The Indonesian men's team, seeded first, received a bye in the round of 16, while the women's team is scheduled to face Mongolia in the same round. The men's team will await the winner of the Malaysia versus Mongolia match in the quarterfinals.
