Indonesian BPOM delegation visits Daewoong Pharmaceutical R&D center

A high-level delegation from the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) visited Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s Magok R&D Center to inspect advanced research infrastructure and discuss regulatory cooperation. The visit was part of a broader itinerary including the 2026 Global Bio Conference (GBC 2026) and meetings for the Asia-Pacific regulatory testing laboratory network.

During the visit, the delegation reviewed Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s research and development systems for new drugs and biopharmaceuticals. Discussions focused on strengthening communication regarding regulatory procedures for product development, licensing, and clinical trials in Indonesia.

Daewoong Pharmaceutical highlighted its 20-year localization strategy in Indonesia, which includes local production, R&D, and talent cultivation. The company is currently collaborating with Indonesian research institutions on cell therapy and advanced biotechnology. BPOM officials expressed a commitment to maintaining constructive regulatory communication with pharmaceutical companies investing in and conducting R&D within Indonesia.
