Indonesian enterprises launch empowerment programs for small businesses
Major Indonesian state-owned enterprises are implementing social and environmental responsibility programs to empower micro and small enterprises (UMK) through training and certification.
PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (PT PSL) is facilitating halal certification for 20 mentored UMK actors in North Jakarta. In collaboration with LPPOM DKI Jakarta, the program provides technical guidance, including training on Halal Product Assurance Systems, business identification number (NIB) creation, and product verification to improve competitiveness and consumer trust.
Separately, PT Pertamina (Persero) has launched the Pertamina UMK Academy 2026. The program has begun regional training sessions, starting with 217 participants from East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara. The academy offers coaching and assistance in sectors such as food and beverage, fashion, crafts, and beauty to help small businesses scale up and improve market access.
