Indonesian firms Vale and Pureco launch tree‑planting and mangrove‑restoration CSR projects

PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, through its Indonesia Growth Project Pomalaa, organized a tree‑planting event on World Environment Day 2026 at SMKN 9 Kolaka in Pomalaa, Kolaka Regency. Dozens of trees were planted with involvement of school staff, local government officials, and the company’s environmental manager Firman Gunawan, who said the activity is meant to “grow climate awareness among students.”

Pureco, partnering with the NGO Lindungi Hutan, planted 300 mangrove seedlings on 4 June 2026 at the Wonorejo Mangrove Eco‑tourism area near Surabaya, East Java. Managing Director Ringgo highlighted that each Pureco purchase funds a mangrove tree, noting mangroves help reduce coastal erosion, sequester carbon and provide habitat.

Both initiatives are part of broader corporate‑social‑responsibility programmes aimed at promoting sustainable practices and raising public awareness of environmental protection in Indonesia.
