Persib and Persija advance pre-season preparations

Indonesian football clubs Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta are advancing their pre-season preparations for the 2026/2027 Super League through international training camps and friendly matches.

Persib Bandung secured a 3-0 victory against Malaysia's Sabah FC in the Dewata Challenge Series. Goals were scored by Mariano Peralta, Luka Menalo, and Beckham Putra. Coach Igor Tolic noted the positive performance of new players and integrated several players returning from national team duties, including Thom Haye and Eliano Reijnders, who were given recovery time.

Persija Jakarta is currently conducting a training camp in Thailand. Under coach Shin Tae-yong, the squad is focusing on physical conditioning and tactical discipline. The team is scheduled to play two friendly matches in Thailand: against Police Tero on August 19 and Chiangrai United on August 22. Shin Tae-yong plans to use the first match to refine team coordination and the second to test his best lineup. Six players returning from the ASEAN Hyundai Cup, including Shayne Pattynama and Rizky Ridho, are receiving specialized recovery programs.
